1) Start up FS2002 or FS2004.
2) Once you are in the main display for Flight Sim, click on Multiplayer.
3) Click on "Open Multiplayer Session":
4) Type in a name of choice (I recommend that if you are a member of FS2004.com you use your member name for multiplayer on the Akroma Server. Then type in the server IP address (in this example, I am connecting to the Akroma Server so I typed the server IP 66.105.121.185). Click "search."
5) After about 5 seconds the server will show up on your screen - click on it and then click join. Also make sure that you do not have join as observer checked or nobody will see you.
6) Once you click join it may a few moments to connect to the server depending on your connection speed. Once your connected a chat window will show up for you to talk to fellow Flight Simmers.
TroubleshootingIf you have any trouble connecting to the server make sure: 1) Your firewall is not blocking your connection to the server. 2) You have an internet connection. 3) You have the right IP address. 4) Also make sure that fellow Flight Simmer's firewalls are not blocking your IP address and port, if person is blocking you, you will not be able to connect to the server, due to the way multiplayer communicates with computers connected to the server.
