> Hilarious Radio Calls

I came across this link at a different forum... hilarious radio calls that people have heard or heard from someone else. There are a lot of ones that are commonly found on the web, but also quite a number of probably unique ones told firsthand from those who heard them.

http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/showthread.php?t=2263

Have a read, they're real gems!

This happened to me on VATSIM months ago:

Controller: "XXXX Climb to FL280 blah blah"

Me: "Ugh...XXXX is Cessna 182, we don't get to go that high!"

What do you mean? I can't post a link to a different forum? But it'd be different if it were a website then? That really doesn't make any sense.

I'd be different if you owned that page. It'd be called advertising your own web.

I was doing an IFR X/C from DBQ-MDW. Chicago approach of course hates the little guys, so when I switched from Chicago approach to Midway tower. I hear..

"Skychicken 5209Z, Midway tower, winds 320@12 caution Wake Turbulence, Cleared to land ILS 31C"
I have never been called a Sky-chicken. So, when I contacted Chicago Center on 133.95(around RFD). I used Skychicken as my inital callsign. Turns out he had heard Skychicken before. LOL

My brother was flying into SFO back when he use to fly the Shorts 360 for WestAir (United Express), and they were paired up with an United 757 for the parallel approach.

Approach "United ###, blah blah blah, cleared for the approach into 28R, report the Shorts on final to the L in sight"

United: "Roger approach, we had them in sight, but we lost them over the trailer park"

Not a very funny joke..but if you've ever seen a Shorts 360 you'll get it tongue.gif

Controller: Staying clear of all airspaces?

My instructor: ...Except yours.

(short pause)

Controller: Did you just say, 'Up yours'?
