Rather than clutter up the brainstorming threads with questions about how the project is supposed to work, let's keep that stuff in here. This is also the place for any suggestions about the project.

Note: this thread IS NOT for listing your suggestions for FS2006 - save that for the brainstorming sessions. Thanks!

If it turns into a big enough section, then they may. But that's up to us.

Exactly TCY. We're the ones who buy this sim right? So let's provide some feedback to the authors of it. That's one thing most developers take a great deal of interest in, at least developers whose software has been around as long as FS. I don't think the FS Team is any exception.

I think the quality of our complaints will be a far greater variable than the quantity of them. I know that if I was developing some software like FS that I'd want to know what people really wanted, people who use it all the time and knows what would make it a better program. I'm awfully glad that Brad and Jon have decided to do this and hopefully we'll raise some ears at microsoft by doing so.

I realize that the poll we are going to have is the main way of tightning down the complaints to a few sections but there's got to be some guidance from one person over all of the topics we respond to.

Since we are doing the poll and voting on the topic that means most to us, that shouldn't negate any of the other topics from being explored in greater detail. We all have our biggest gripes with FS, and our smaller gripes as well, cause we are all "nitpickers" when it comes to stuff being wrong in a sim or being un-realistic. The little things are what matter most to most people. Microsoft will deffiently work on the major issues, I just hope that we can open their eyes to the smaller details that need unkinking in FS and get them changed or fixed.

That's what I think the polls and groupings should be about biggrin.gif But that's just my 2 cents.

Just to clarify, we will be covering all of the main categories eventually. This first poll (tomorrow) will just decide which one we tackle first. Once we whittle down one category and submit our ideas about it to MS, we'll then come back up to the next main category and start on that one. This way everything gets covered, but the most popular items get covered first.

After re-reading my initial post about this project, it looks like I left that bit out - sometimes I think working my fingers and my brain are mutually exclusive options!

I was wondering, does MS even know about us (FS2004.com)?

Yeah Brad,

I understood what you meant by the most submitted topics first, but I just wanted everyone else to know that the smaller details are just as important as the big ones. Microsoft is sure to get the major complaints worked on from focus groups and the like, but they may not get the info they need about small things like "rivers on the sides of mountains" or "roads that go straight up and down instead of climbing gradually" that sorta thing.

I'm really proud of you and Jon to take such pride in flight sim and the forum to want to do this for the betterment (is that a word tongue.gif ) of all us members and the general simming community as a whole.

Thanks, groudon39

Well although the MSFS dev team ultimately holds the power to implement or ignore these suggestions, we do hope we can help steer their development somewhat. smile.gif

And the sessions aren't on a strict timetable - once a topic appears to have been exhausted we'll sift through it, extract the popular items, then move on to the next one.

I think what a good suggeston is since the brainstorming topic is locked and there is only 2 unlocked topics in this forum what would be cool is to have a mode lets say All Players Mode this mode should have whatever airplane your flying and someone else who is in that mode who you don't even know you'll see them or whatever but they'll be there and they'll see you and you could hear them in ATC and stuff. biggrin.gif just a suggestion that hopefully will be in fs2006.

if scenery is improved then were going to have to spend even more cash on upgrading the pc as it will load soooo slow unsure.gif i think they should focus on Aircraft and Aircr aircraft realism, u no what wud be cool, different accents on the ATC for every airport u go to ohmy.gif for example u fly to liverpool u get scouser atc instead of american hehe

ATC is a good idea.

I agree they should focus more on default scenery, I'd much rather prefer downloading aircraft and auto-matically have good default scenery.

Hi all, I'm a new member but absolutely love fs2004.
Having said that, I think it would be a good idea for Microsoft to recognise that not all ATC controllers are American.
It would add to the realism to have accents relevant to the country you are flying over added to the ATC voices.

I am from the Cayman Islands I want Fs2006 to have better scenery for Grand Cayman and to have better gmax features world wide I am the owner of all the previous microsoft flight simulator titles,95,98,00,02 and 04 better communications for atc services allow us request permission for high speed departure. When I mean better gmax features I mean realistic ground power vehicles, realistic tugs, more air and ground traffic, realistic stairs and for the first time have better tar mats, actual realistic jet bridges and more realistic jet ways I willing to pay $100 for this if these request are seriously considered and I can guarantee all the aviation enthusiast in the Cayman Islands which is quite a lot of sales. Not here but every where in the caribbean.
